Every one of its regions has its own Learning & Development Officer, who is responsible for continuous development through delivering training and coaching. In addition, an Optometry Development Manager oversees clinical development in each region.

Further support for optometrists is available through a dedicated Professional Services team. 

Almost a concierge service, they are on hand to provide guidance and direction whenever you require it.

As the future of optometry will be in providing community-based eye care services, the company has committed to helping its optometrists develop professionally, pledging that every Optical Express optometrist will be able to gain an Independent Prescribing qualification through its partnership with Glasgow Caledonian University. The first IP cohort has now completed the course, while more optometrists are currently studying for the qualification.

In addition, optometrists have the opportunity to attend a variety of CET events and gain CET points.
